North Georgia painter Judy Bynum George paints from the local Appalachian and Blue Ridge Mountain ranges, as well as the National Forests of Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee while conveying a message of encouragement for fellow travelers. George’s landscapes have become recognizable for their thickly-applied mountains of rich color, identifiable brushstrokes, and playful and inspirational titles.
“I paint using the forms of nature as symbols for expression: pathways, clouds, mountains, sunlight and shadows, flowers, trees, and flowing streams. I also collect titles from everything from rock music to hymns, sermons, movies, books, conversations, and TV; and then paint inspired by both the words and the music. The paintings are a record of my journey, the expression of my deepest feelings for family and friends, and they tell my philosophy: Choose a Path With Heart, Live Your Dreams, and Love Conquers All”.
Judy has served as instructor of painting, drawing and art history at the college level, including LSU – Alexandria, LA & Truett-McConnell College in Cleveland, GA. Her work has been featured in some of the Southeast’s leading art galleries, including Abstein Gallery, Atlanta, Bobbe Gillis Gallery, Atlanta, Monty Stabler Gallery, Birmingham, AL, and Corporate Art Source, Raleigh, NC.
